First off, I consider David Byrne to be the most creative and taleted musical genius of the 20th and 21st century. Easily. The projects he comes up with are (so amazing and unique. He has done scores for Broadway, PBS series(not just the music, but everything). He is also intellectually a genius and sometimes seems he is on a whole different plain. Rei Momo is an album he did based on all the different types of South American music (Samba, Mambo, Meringue(sp?), etc.) He spent a long time down there and worked with musicians from all different areas and backgrounds. He writes music for a full band and it is just so....awesome. I can't think of a better way to describe the sound he achieves. I saw him touring for the Rei Momo album and had my mind blown when he came out alone with a guitar , sang a verse and then the curtain went back and there were like 30 people ( mostly brass) and just they blew the place up. (Tower theater in Philly- great venue). This song is a commentary on the rise and decline of towns and cities. A long way from "Burnin Down the House". Enjoy PS_ I had his dorm room my freshman year in college) http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l236/wonkalumps/byrne3.gif http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/geminijen23/story_byrne_ap.jpg
