I've always loved this song, and I think it might be his best ever...outside of his song "Turn the Page."
According to Timothy White, a writer for Rolling Stone, "'Against the Wind' is about trying to move ahead, keeping your sanity and integrity at the same time."
And according to Bob, during an interview on 100 FM The Pike...he said that "Against the Wind" came about from his days as a high-school cross country runner.
To me, it's a song about a lost love...and everytime I hear this song...I think of a lost love...Heather.
Guess this is simply one of those songs, that can mean different things to different people.
I also think this song has the greatest line ever written in a song...
Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then.
