Obviously tragic for the young woman it happened to. But a couple of comments.
Not that it matters, but it was a seasonal flu shot, not the H1N1 shot, that she had the reaction to.
While we should be getting our advice from medical professionals and not local television news shows, the fact is that this broadcast was not telling you not to get the shot. They pointed out several times how rare the reaction is.
Getting in your car and driving on the expressway is statistically far more dangerous than getting a flu shot. Ask your Doc.

I just never get sick, and after 3 people I know of in my family that got the flu shot have gotten the flu more than they ever have before. I don't know why. But other than people in my family, I haven't heard of anyone getting really sick from it or dying. I know Dystonia is very rare. They said it's one and a million. I just figure why get the shot if I never get the flu. Swine flu vaccination I'm definitely not getting for the time being. If the virus gets stronger, I will consider it in order to prevent myself from passing it to others. I don't want that on my conscious. Right now I just go OCD with the hand washing, and make sure I don't touch my face at all, because that's how you contract it through your mouth, nose or eyes. Oh someone that has it sneezes on you. Thanks for your input!

i also know people that had never gotten the flu before getting the shot and now they get the flu almost every year. the swine flu shot is a man made vaccine designed in conjunction with a man made virus. H1N1 is different than a seasonal shot in that the swine flu epidemic was orchestrated so the population could eventually be forced to take the H1N1. This serves two purposes. First, the drug companies that are making the so called vaccine will be padding the padding in their pockets. 2. Now that obama has a seat on the UN council (which is against US law and makes him a traitor) and the UNs best interests at heart they can move ahead with their plans of world population control. Ultimately H1N1 us designed to shorten your life span and make you and your children sterile. They've been using the seasonal flu shot as well as other vaccinations and inoculations for years as a means to make our immune systems dependent on them thus weakening our immune systems to the point of not being able to naturally fight any disease at all.
